Ball Jointed Doll DREAMS

After my recent adventure to the IDEX Doll Show
in Orlando
I'm once again obsessing over BJDs
over the Valentine Holiday I was gifted with several
manufactured dolls which are nice
but there is nothing like holding a hand-made doll
playing with its tiny joints
gazing at the beautiful painted face!

continuing with soft BJDs
my WIP
Pixie Pirates
which are distracting my obsession
designing fabulous outfits
they will be in my shop next week

But while waiting for the faces to dry
carved some foam for new clay dolls
a fairy
a mermaid
I find it easier to overlay clay over a form of some kind
Like I know what I'm doing LOL
just experimenting
looking towards making molds
and casting resin
soon

After all, a doll shop should have a large
assortment of dollies
Have a great weekend!

MY LOVE OF RAG DOLLS

My love of rag dolls
started as a child
as soon as I could thread a needle
I started sewing
soft little
dolls

thought it was time to revisit
my old favorite

a flat pattern or pan-cake doll
with a little shapely
sculpting

dressed in pretty dancing dresses
of the Deco period 1920's
sweet little painted faces

a larger doll
14 inches
similar to the smaller dolls I created 20 years ago

and my logo
the face I paint on every doll
as a signature
seems like such a long time ago
when I designed
my face
painting this sweet little face
that always makes me smile
these three Deco Dollies are in my shop
Happy Valentine's Day

WIP DECO DOLLIES TEDDI'S & HATS

Deco Dollies
in teddi's
and felted hats

sewing dresses
and dancing the Charleston, mostly to keep
warm, it has been cold in Florida

after making the Chanel Dolls over Christmas
I decided I should make a smaller
shapelier version
of my Rag Doll dressed in 1920's
style

also made this little bracelet
for Valentines Day

Have a great weekend

GADGET RABBITS

Steampunk is a sub-genre of science fiction and speculative fiction, frequently featuring elements of fantasy

OK
but I always thought it was the style of
Mad Scientists
and
Crazy Inventors

Playing around with the Steam Punk Style
I created the
Gadget Rabbits

Carnival
Victorian
Rabbits

embellished with tiny metal gadgets

SPICE DEVIL DIVAS

They are back
every year about this time
these sneaky little Devils
cause havoc in my
Studio!

throwing pins on the carpet
stealing my favorite tiny
scissors

I guess it is all about love
and getting my attention
because soon it will be
Valentines Day

and ten years ago
I created these little
Divas
to brighten up the Winter Days

several of the trouble-makers
have gone to live
elsewhere

But still seven remain

must be the smell of chocolate
or the little sweetie hearts
but here they are
staying for awhile
to cause a little
mischief
