KAERIES FAERIES

The quintessential Faerie
out of all the dolls I design
these fairies are my favorite

although I have been creating these dolls for years

If I were a Fairy
this is what I would look like

dressed in Renaissance inspired outfits

Forest dwellers

beautiful silks and screen print chiffon skirts
and soft suede corsets

DOLLS IN PRIMITIVE FORM

One of my favorite stages
of doll making
sanding
where the doll becomes
white velvet
the primitive state before the paint

as with my soft sculpture
no face no clothing
just
serenity

A GARDEN FAERIE NAMED LISEN

Lisen
is a Garden Faerie
most of the time
she likes to be naked

I made her a pretty little fairy outfit

I had a hard time getting her to wear it

until I promised to let her sit in the garden

the light was so pretty today
and there was a cool breeze

Lisen is part of my Mousefeathers Collection of Dolls

LIL COCO

Coco Chanel
the gigantic icon of French Fashion
her suits and style
inspire me
Last Christmas I made a larger version of this doll
after seeing pictures of the Chanel Soho
window displays in New York

This LiL Coco is smaller 14 inches
with a Karey logo painted face
dressed in a cotton Summer suit
with all the glitter trims

felted hat with a silk gardenia

My favorite Fashion Icon only tiny
