This is what I saw when I went to get the morning paper
My only Christmas decoration enhanced by this lovely little bird

Usually, by this time
the house is decorated with lights and trees

and my studio has been converted into fairy land
But not this year

a berri wreath is the only sign of Christmas

My kitties sit like sphinx watching this bird
Decorating will have to wait!
I'm off to a Business Convention
but when I return there will be a decorating frenzy!
and a give-away announcement

I have much to be thankful for!
"Celebrating 100 dolls sold in my Etsy Shop"
Two years ago I bought a used computer from E-Bay and kicking and screaming the whole way, I opened my Etsy Shop. I not only had to learn to use a computer, but also a camera.
Soon after I started my blog.
Twigs Faerie Land
I stopped screaming and started smiling
I have met so many wonderful blog-friends and have been inspired by
fabulous artists
For this old Fairy life couldn't be better
So, time for a Give-Away

this Magical Pixie
was created from pale green suede cloth
her face is needle sculpted and painted

She is dressed in all my favorite colors
pink and blue

She has wired silver sparkle wings
because all my Pixies have wings in
Twigs Faerie Land

Eyelash yarn hair, and wisps of spiral silks
dressed in a romper with
beaded top and petaled skirt

she is 10 inches in a seated position
her fingers are wired so she can grab her toes

How to enter the Give Away
leave a comment on this blog post
and you must be a Follower
I will pull a name from my Peter Pan Hat
Sunday Dec. 5th

Thanks again to all my blog friends that helped me
with all the computer and photography questions
and to all my Followers for always commenting
and giving me support

Happy Holidays
faerie kisses

With the Holidays a few days away
my life has become hectic
Baking, cooking, shopping
and decorating

Sometimes it is just nice to take a minute and sit at my desk and look at something
So I adopted Abby

Abby was created by one of my favorite doll artists
and sweet friend

I was so excited to be able to get another one of her special dolls
Kitty has been kinda lonely

Sailor is always happy to make new friends

Evelyn art work is so peaceful and tranquil to look at
gives me a serene feeling in the midst of Holiday frazzle
Check out Evelyn's Shop and Blog
and get yourself a little

and in the meantime, while gazing dreamily at dollies
Pinkie has been dressed

Pinkie is part of my Mousefeather Collection of Dolls
Japanese paper-clay ball jointed primitive style

10 inches tall and ready to play
she is in my shop

resting up before the decorating starts!

Getting into the Holiday Spirit
Nordic Sprites
Modern Rag Doll

my version of Dr. Seuss

Monday, November 8, 2010

This happens every time
I have control issues
Not being able to get the clay to look the way I imagine
sends me into soft sculpture frenzy
I know, I have only been playing around with clay for a year
but not having control over this substance makes me crazy
and a
explosion of fabrics start flying
this time was the worst
I have reverted back to early fabric sculpture
no ball joints
and I started four big rag doll style Faeries

and a Gown for a formal event this month

a new Mermaid Costume for all the
Boat Parades

and all this has to be cleaned up
so the Christmas Decorations
can come out

Best thing to do is close the door
and go watch a movie!

Getting glazed with sparkle
#3 has more ball joints than the first two
starting to get a feel for molding the clay
still like the primitive style dolls
next week knee and elbow joints
