the birth of #8

now she will sit on my desk

and be admired for awhile

enjoying her simple nakedness

before the lovely faerie gown

is created

the gigantic icon of French Fashion

her suits and style

Last Christmas I made a larger version of this doll

after seeing pictures of the Chanel Soho

window displays in New York

This LiL Coco is smaller 14 inches

with a Karey logo painted face

dressed in a cotton Summer suit

with all the glitter trims

felted hat with a silk gardenia

My favorite Fashion Icon only tiny

FRENCH FAERIES IN THE HOUSE

beg to be dressed

of course with all the Tea Parties

going on

French Faeries

appear

dressed in a confection of laces

and ribbons, with a silver

sky high

hair-do

enjoys sitting on a dressing table

or shelf and watching

girlie humans

putting on powder

applying lipstick

and curling your hair

Welcome to A Mad Tea Party

Meet Jane

Jane has a special suitcase

where she keeps all her favorite

treasures

Jane is always thinking about Mermaids

But today she is having a little Tea party

with her friend

a quick nap before all the festivities

Jane dreams she is sailing the sparkling ocean

dressed in her beautiful Mermaid gown

while sailing she sees a Mermaid

and then another

come swim with us

Jane could feel the velvet cool water

she awoke from her dream

and saw a crown

what a magical dream

Later she enjoyed Tea with her friend

Sarah

they exchanged stories of Mermaids and Faeries

and a magical crown

that the mermaids had given her

Mad crazy dreams often come true

Thanks to Miss V for hosting another wonderful event

BACK TO MY DOLL BEGINNINGS

A softer sculpted doll

new fairy pattern

At the beginning I always used this

fuzzy soft viscose fabric

easy on the hands

so glad I purchased boxes of it

not ready to give up my soft little faeries

Just making them softer more rag doll like

with smuggie faces

leaving all the detail to the clay dolls

feeling like I've come full circle in doll making

old hands feeling OK
