FINALLY GETTING SOMEWHERE

In my quest to make perfect plaster molds

I took a ride into Orlando

to visit the Super Lego Store

I just love living so close to all things Mickey Mouse

also I had a lesson from my friend Crystal, who creates amazing porcelain dolls

 on Mold making

here are the 1st half drying

my very first poured slip head from one of my molds

YAY

cracked a little, but for me a success!!

Now it will all be practice and lots of drying and patience

GETTING SOAPED

My 3rd try at mold making

so far so good

learning patience

a time consuming art

but, now that I have slowed down, feeling more 

enjoyable

   

one more layer of soap, and I'm off to visit a friend

for some tips on plaster molds

A WEEK OF SCULPTING

Getting ready to cast again

took a year to get to this point

I prefer all the great Japanese paper clays

sculpting is getting easier

starting to develop a style

of primitive ball jointed dolls

WINDY CITY WEEKEND

 Spent Mother's Day Weekend

in Chicago

 favorite shop and a large bag of fabrics I see many fairy dresses
from all this sparkle

  

water taxis and boat rides on the winding river through the 

city

spent a lot of years in this building

working in the markets

enjoying a lot of city art

my quiet little lunch spot

it was raining and windy

usual weather for Chicago

I so love all the large outdoor art

Mother's Day was sunny

everything is so green

Mother has been gardening

always nice to visit

the neighborhood

where I grew up

KATE A COUNTRY PIXIE

Kate is a Pixie

she lives on the farm

she has a little pig doll

that is carries with her

she spends her days riding on the back of her 

favorite cow

and running through the orange grove

chasing 

honey bees

and she and her pig are in my

TIME TO TRY AGAIN

The last two days I've been sculpting like crazy

thought I would try the mold casting thing again

from the last try two head molds, I think usable

now I made fairy bodies for them

and a small head

which needs a body
