PORCELAIN VERSUS FLUMO

dolls created in porcelain

poured slip in plaster molds

and fired in a kiln many times

Flumo dolls

air dry slip poured in plaster molds 

air dried and painted

also called cold porcelain

has a heavier feel

same mold

 like how the doll shrinks in porcelain

so tiny

I collect both types of dolls and have used both medias

do love the Flumo

but nothing feels like porcelain

I really like my little dear

she will become a prototype for a porcelain mold

sadly I will prime her like a mummy

but she has gorgeous gazelle legs 

now fairy gowns next and soft hair

SCULPTING MARATHON

Seems I had a sculpting marathon this week

three new ball jointed dolls

fairy creatures

this is what happens when I'm mulling over the aspect of resin dolls

sculpting gives me way to much time to think
