THEATER WITCH

This is the week I turn another year older, I don't feel like a Senior, and most of the time I don't look like a old person.
But I felt some magical spells might help console me
I returned to the Old State Theater to seek out the resident Witch
"a very old, very hip girl"

Around the back, up the steep staircase

She greeted me in a puff of sparkles

Among the candles and pots

and potions of all kinds

The Witch invited me to take a seat, she said "my birthday should be full of fun, and feathers!"

She went into the other room to mix some potions,
and cast some spells for a wonderful birthday

I know that my birthday will be full of fun and magic, and of course feathers?
Grateful to the Theater Witch, I invited her to the Halloween Harvest Ball
Oct 17th
Miss Vanessa over at aFancifultwist if having a magical party, so bring your broom it will be,
no doubt, a long night of party hopping!

VAMPIRES

Florida in October has been blazing hot
a fire inferno from hell
To hot to spend anytime outside
So hot I almost forgot about my Gargoyle problem
in the backyard

Off I went to the State Theater to find more guests for the
Halloween Harvest Ball
I peeked around a corner, down a creepy backstage alley
and saw a sweeping black cape

disappear into a door entrance

I followed the black floating creature up the grand staircase

into a prop room full of candleabras and light fixtures

I finally caught up with the Vampires of the Theater
Beautiful white Kitty and a Vampire Girl

Careful not to get to close, I invited these two to my Ball
They accepted and asked if I would like to have lunch
(or actually be lunch)

No thank you, I had prepared before I arrived, a huge garlic Italian sandwich
they crinkled their noses
I backed away slowly, with my smelly sandwich
off to the park for lunch
I'll see you at the
Halloween Harvest Ball

SOFT SCULPTURE & BALL JOINTED DOLLS

I have a love of all dolls, ball jointed dolls are my favorite
But, could it be done in fabric?
I have seen BJDs done by other doll designers,
but I wanted something simple and sweet

in a beautiful batik cotton

in the perfect 11 to 12 inch size

so, I experimented and used wooden beads in the elbows, and knees, etc.
tiny cloth tabs, strung with strong beading thread, embellished with beads and buttons

this wispy little nymph was born
I see a large crowd of nymphs taking over my studio

FROM THE ATELIER OF KAERIE FAERIE

When my husband and I moved to the country a few years ago, I thought it would be a hard adjustment to make. Living all of my life in a big city, but the peaceful, tranquility of the farm land and country sides has made me more creative.
I believe it is the natural slowing down process of retirement, that has allowed me to be content among the cows in the back yard.
But I still yearn to design pretty gowns and dresses. Costuming at the community Theater has been fun, but I'm limited as to what I'm able to design.
I have always designed and made beautiful clothes, it use to be a need, because of my love of French Couture, and my lanky, tallness.

But as the parties, and art shows, and the night life of the city has halted, I still feel a need to design.

So, Fantasy Collections, handmade ArtWear has been reborn

My love of fabrics and textiles is still a strong part of my Artistic life

Now my shop has dresses, and dolls all fiber and fabrics

I always say, "never say never"

POWDER PUFF CLOWNS

I was greeted this morning by these two lovelies

Sitting on my dressing table

I seem to have a girlie pink princess thing going on, of late
sweet little Powder Puff Clowns
After the Halloween Collection of Dolls

pink seems to be the only color that oozes from my soul
I think I will have to look at these two darlings for awhile before
they go into my shop!

HARVEST SKELE & DEVILISH DIVA

This year I became infatuated with the Day of the Dead Celebration

The art work is amazing, primitive, and just fun!!

I decided to do my own interpretation of the Day of the Dead Skeleton Lady

and a Devilish Diva

Harvest Skele, ink on white velvet
I have stocked my shop with soft sculpture Halloween dolls
take a look and have a laugh

ADO MMC CLOWNS

Ado"art dolls only"
online club
Mini Monthly Challenge
Clowns

Gave me a chance to get away from the Halloween Projects for awhile
and experiment with cloth

I made a ball jointed doll, with wooden beads in the joints

and these two out of a romantic song, in a screen print cotton

I love the beauty of the simplicity of these dolls at this point,
but faces, big hair, and sparkles
will inevitably happen to these three!

WITCH BATS OF THE THEATER

In the old State Theater, Witch Bats flutter about the rafters

Swooping around the chandeliers

At the very top of the Theater, where old dressing rooms hold wonderful costumes

Like a wonderful trapeze act, they fly through the air

Darting among the ropes and pulleys of the huge curtain, and back-drops

Landing softly on a upper landing
Stopping long enough, to be invited to the Grand Harvest Ball

Witch Bats, enchanting creatures

This Collection of dolls are now in my Etsy Shop
