THE OLD PINK HOUSE

The old Pink House down the street is dark, and scary, and looks alone

Not even a ripple in the pond, just a reflection of a lonely palm tree

The back porch is so dark even in the afternoon, it is creepy

This house was not always so empty, Elizabeth lived there with her Grandmother
from her bedroom window she could see the pond in the front yard

It was green and sparkling

At sunset the Lanterns at the side of the house would cast a brilliant glow over the yard

the little Green Mermaids, would awake from napping under the purple vines
and hop into the pond, and start a water ballet for Elizabeth

As night approached, Elizabeth would wander down the winding stair
case to the kitchen
Where Grandmother would be kneading dough for the morning bread

Elizabeth would climb into the great wooden chair and Grandmother would tell her wonderful
stories of Florida Pirates

and Elizabeth would fall asleep, dreaming she was a swashbuckling Pirate of the South Seas

and wishing she would never grow up and leave the wonderful Pink House

MERFAERIES

My Grandmother told me stories of the Merfaeries of Norway
Small goldfish like fairies, golden skin and tiny golden crowns, wings like hummingbirds
They lived in the Great Nordic Forest, and would play and swim in the crystal streams

I never saw any up North, but when I moved to South Florida, I saw Merfaeries in the Mangroves in the Keys, Silver wings, long snake tails they would coil around Water Lilies

The Lakes in Central Florida also have many Merfaeries, some look like Dragonflies

But the beautiful Merfaeries I found recently, were pale green white, and lived in a small rock pond
The wings were cobwebs of sparkles

These two were enchanting
I listened, and I heard them humming a peaceful tune

RAG A MUFFIN PIXIES

I live in the country surrounded by four little villages, each one has special shops and wonderful places to eat.
My mother is half English, so everyday she has tea, I grew up loving afternoon tea!

My favorite tea house is in the Village of Mt. Dora.

I enjoy going often and strolling the Victorian streets of this quaint village.

Today I passed by this blue bike, that has grown into the garden, I spied a scurrying of lace and pointed ears.

I enter the Garden Gates foyer and see my favorite spot to sit.

Placing a order of ice tea, and pastries, I sit back and enjoy the girlishness of the atmosphere. White Lace, tea stained Lace, white dishes and lots of flowers fill my view.

I looked back at the table and a small white Pixie popped a sugar cube in my tea! Thank you, she curtsied and winked, and off she went.

I looked towards the kitchen and saw four Pixies dressed in lace.

The waitress delivered my pastries, and told me about the Garden Gate Pixies, they were the official goodies testers, and they earned their keep by polishing silver.

I just love their little pink shoes, which keep them very quiet, as they run around the house.

So, if you get to go to the Garden Gate Tea House in Mt. Dora, look for the Rag a Muffin Pixes,

they will probably try to sneak sugar cubes in your tea, they want everyone to be sweet!

ADO ELEMENTS EVENT

WHALE RIDERS
If you go east in Florida, past the sugary beaches, out past the Bimini Islands, you will sail into magical blue water. The Bahama Bank is turquoise, dotted with little jewels, white sand below the surface, red starfish dance, lobsters parade

This is where I watched the Whale Riders, metallic tales glinting in the sun

The Fish grow very large in this watery paradise. The mermaid riders can be seen leaping and racing, below the surface gigantic Sting Rays perform a ballet, flying like birds

As a Sailor and Floridian, I chose Water Elements for the ADO Challenge, and recreated the Whale Riders, for everyone to enjoy!

Dolls are all soft sculpture, with paper clay overlays, painted in layers of acrylic paint

frothy tulle, sprinkled with Bahama Shells and lots of sparkles

Check out all the 4 Element Blogs this weekend
