A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM

ADO's new Challenge Shakespeare, is so exciting I had to get started right away.

My favorite play A Midsummer Night's Dream, has lots of great characters and faeries, I started two characters Queen of the Fairies, Titania and Bottom the Weaver, with the head of the donkey.
The story is Puck casts a spell on Bottom to give him a head of a donkey, and Titania while sleeping has magic love drops placed on her eyelids, when she awakened,
she will fall in love with whoever she sees first, which as luck would have it," it is Bottom," who ends up being lavishly kept by the Queen.
My two sculptures are cotton knit and the bodies have been sculpted, the faces are blank, ready for sculpting and painting and a donkey head must be fashioned out of cloth.

More pictures to come as they progress.

VALENTINE'S DAY IS COMING, I FEEL THE CHOCOLATE MONSTER APPROCHING

It has been a while since my last post, I've been busy riding the GYPSY CARAVAN, the OWOH event had kept me intrigued with wonderful new blogs to read, and I have met and seen incredible artists along this fascinating journey. A big thank you goes out to Lisa Oceandreamer, for hosting of this spectacular event. I joined this group of Art Doll makers, ADO Art Dolls Only. This is a amazing group of artists. Members of this club enjoy forums, chats, discussions, challenges, click on the ADO badge and check it out!
Now back to Valentine merriment and Chocolate monsters! I've been trying to work, I added new dolls to my Etsy site, Sprite Faeries, colorful spindly faeries that tumble around the house, sprinkling rose petals. But the Spice Devil Girls have been running rampant through my studio, spilling pins on the floor, pulling the Kitty's tail, and hiding my tiny gold scissors. Little stinkers these devils, dancing and laughing, party central seems to be here. But not even these little Divas can spoil this week, for I will have my very first Etsy Showcase, Dolls and Miniatures, Thursday Feb. 5th "it is so exciting"

So dance the Can Can Spice girls as tiny gold winged Angels watch, clap and sing! Lets celebrate and have a wonderful time, break out the chocolate!
Except for this one little naughty Spice Devil who is the biggest trouble maker of all!
So off you go to someone else's house to cause mischief.
My FOURTH GIVE-AWAY we be this LEOPARD DRESSED DIVA

My OWOH blog will be closed for comments Tues FEB. 11th at noon EST.

ONE WORLD ONE HEART ADVENTURES OF FLORIDA FAERIES

Just under the great National Forest of Ocala and above the Parks and the City Beautiful, Orlando is a tranquil place called Central Florida. Smack in the middle of the state time stands still!
Thousands of fresh water lakes surrounded by groves of orange trees, tall oaks dressed in lacy moss, where beneath lie monstrous alligators and Great Blue Heron fill the air.

On this particularly sunny crisp day, I set off to visit some of my local friends. I stopped to share an orange with Shortie and Ute, little field trolls.
Than onto the lake front where I waved at a pair of beautiful Merfaeries with green dragon fly wings, singing lulla-byes to the restless alligators.

I walked through the orange grove and came across three little country faeries collecting acorns in their full skirted pinafores.

I stopped to chat, I told them of the One World One Heart event, where I will get to meet new friends from all over the world.
The faeries were very interested in all the adventures I spoke of, they so wanted to travel to new places. I suggested they pose for me and I took some pictures of these three lovely faeries.

THE GIVE-AWAY IS "THREE COUNTRY FAERIES"

So my blog is open to everyone who visits, leave a comment and a e-mail and FEB 12th, I'll pull three names out of my PETER PAN HAT and send three winners one of these country cuties, for a grand new life and fabulous adventures!

Thanks for stopping bye and checking out Central Florida Life

FAERIES AND MORE FAERIES

I never left my studio this past season, but my life is pretty easy these days, one child away at school out of state, young people have such busy lives, Oh, I remember that! It is nice just to enjoy the days at this slow rate. So I make lots of dolls, lately faeries, I just don't feel the mermaids until the weather gets hot again. I know the weather up north has been cold, but for us in Central Florida it is nice to put on a sweater once in awhile.
So because it has been cold,
The Big Blue Fae, Lola and Leila shook frosty crystals on my studio windows the other morning!

The yard was full of red breasted Robins, large flocks passing through on their way South to Miami, because that is where the party is!
Spring will be here soon enough, so here are a few colorful little Garden Tenders to help brighten up your day!

I will be posting my give away for the One World One Heart Event on Jan. 19th
So check it out!

A DREAMY NEW YEAR

Every year I sew up some wild outfit to wear on New Year Eve, this year I took a break from doll making and made a Fop Frock, I have a thing for Glam Rock Fashion, Pirate Clothes. Black suede with silver threads, and a bubble skirt, I lined this Jacket in scraps from all the flannel pajamas I made for family Christmas gifts this year. It would be great to wear outside at night at a fabulous party. But I will probably stay in, not that I haven't been invited to a fabulous party, but I hear my baby blue UGG boots calling me to lounge out on the couch and order Chinese food and watch the ball drop and all the fireworks on the tele.

Later, after I've sipped some champagne, my fawn Pan will play a lovely lullaby for me, and I notice a couple of story-book faeries singing softly.

I close my eyes and see the Great door of the Hall of the Faeries, behind that door is the biggest party of them all! Peacefully I drift off to sleep........into the Happiest of New Years!!!

CLOSET SHOES

It is that time of year when I venture into the cavernous cave of a closet and find my closet shoes.

You know the shoes you bought for that great New Year's Party, to go with that scandalous pink silk dress, every girl has a pair hiding in the closet. So I dig deep until I spy them, still sparkling, still brand new. Trot them out into the light, and try to put them on, even still, try to stand up in them.

I remember when I bought these red beauties, in South Beach Miami at some fabulous drag shop. They were magnificent sitting on a shelf next to the tinsel. I had to have them! I even planned on wearing them, even though they make me 6ft. 4in. but my tan and dreamy Miami husband, who would look like a dwarf next to me, would have been smiling all night!

So I don my red rhinestone shoes and think about my single life in Miami, hot sizzling parties, walking in the sunrise on the white beach!

Why is it we hang on to shoes, it is not like a picture book of memories. Now that I live in the country and have downsized into a shared closet, and my new mantra in life is learn to live with less, why can't I part with the closet shoes!

Well, at least ZSA ZSA kitty likes them and thinks we should go dance around the Christmas Tree.

Merry Christmas bloggees!

DANCING UNDER THE FULL MOON

The moon was so full and bright a couple nights ago, I knew that the faeries would have a dance!

I could hear all the whispering and giggling in the house. I grabbed my camera and headed over to Fairy Park, the forest was twinkling, I could hear the excitement in the soft breeze! I walked through the sparkling faerie fest and spotted a couple of faeries whispering on a bench, dressed in Christmas outfits, with berry wreaths on their heads, they giggled as I walked by. I peeked around a tree and saw fairy ring dancers, a brisk wind off the lake reminded me of the hour, and I hurried back to my car, passing a little bird faerie, whistling a pretty tune.
